How are the commissions calculated?
by Cannerald
Posted on March 29, 2020 19:00
Dear Cannerald Community 🌱

Since many requests regarding commissions came through the support team, here is a short explanation:

As many have already noticed, the start of our online shop is getting closer and closer, our products for sales are also being commissioned - they are sold with different VAT rates (such as 7.7%, 19%, ...).

To keep our commission system structured, clear, and above all calculable, we have decided to apply the commission to the net price in the future.
This decision will greatly ease the burden on the accounting department, as well as on you as an affiliate, and on the support team.

The net price for the plant sale is 1020€, on this price the commissions are calculated.

Information about the upcoming launch
by Cannerald
Posted on March 23, 2020 13:00
Dear Cannerald community 🌱

We couldn't keep it a secret for any longer: Next Wednesday, the sale of our new location will be launched. This will also involve a price increase, the background of which we would like to explain to you in more detail here.

Growing rapidly, we have to cope with an almost unimaginable number of tasks every day: New hires, production, as well as sales efforts are currently increasing from day to day in many ways. In the meantime, we have sold such a high amount of plants, that we have to bring several hundred kilograms of cannabis from our high-tech facility to the market each month.

In Switzerland, the stated yields were set very high, as we aimed to sell all cannabis to end customers through our products. In the meantime, this has proven to be no longer feasible, as we have an immense amount of CBD, which cannot be sold exclusively via the B2C market.

For example, we bought the cannabis of the last harvest from our customers - (which is intended for our shop) - for a very good market price. Such high prices are currently not possible via the B2B market, though. For this reason, we have to adjust the targeted sales price of the yields for our upcoming plant according to the production mass.

Distribution is easy for us since we are at the top of the B2B market due to the premium-quality that our cannabis facility offers.

Another adaptation to our product is the initial price of a plant: In Switzerland, we have topped up in favor of the company and adapted to GMP-regulations with a lot of motivation, effort and high investments of our own, so that we can be at the forefront of the race for the most successful cannabis sales.

These costs were included in the calculation for our next facility, as we also will grow our plants there according to the same GMP-regulations. That way, we can be at the top of the EU market. Besides, there is a very likely future scenario that the EU will only allow cannabis on the market that is produced according to these GMP-regulations.

Should this be the case, Cannerald is optimally prepared for these circumstances to happen and can continue selling any harvest yield without encountering problems.

What is GMP and what is it for?

The GMP license is the highest possible license in the production sector. By way of comparison: Normally, only companies such as Bayer or Novartis are GMP-licensed. The license allows us to sell medical cannabis directly to pharmaceutical companies or the government.

There is currently no Swiss cannabis producer with a GMP license (laboratories only) since the process is very difficult and requires many years of experience and a high investment of money. Due to the high requirements for the GMP license, we need protocols for every step we take: For example, we have to explain to the inspector how we clean the walls, racks, floors or how our staff put on their cleanroom clothing in the airlock.

The good news is: We will be one of the first cannabis producers in Switzerland, Germany, and Austria with a GMP license! We are planning to obtain this license Q4 2020, as the inspections will be carried out by a government agency. There is no fixed date, so this will take some time.

For the time being, no viewing appointments in our swiss facility
by CannerGrow
Posted on March 17, 2020 00:00
Dear Cannerald Community 🌱

Due to the current extent of the corona crisis, we have to, unfortunately, announce that there will be no tour appointments at our Swiss facility for the coming weeks. As soon as the current situation changes, we will, of course, announce this officially.

The tour stop was decided internally to protect our employees as much as possible and not to endanger their health, so we can guarantee you a smooth course of events.

We know that many partners are interested in a personal visit and we are sorry to have to inform you about this.
However, we ask you to understand our situation - if our employees get infected with the coronavirus, this would lead to a growth stop and we want to avoid this in our and your interest.

Take care and stay healthy!

Delays caused due to Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2)
by CannerGrow
Posted on March 10, 2020 20:00
Dear Cannerald Community 🌱

As you all surely have noticed, there are currently very strong restrictions worldwide due to the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2).
It all started around the beginning of January in the city of Wuhan, Hubei province in China. In mid-January, the situation there became worse - but we hoped for a quick solution and action by the Chinese government to avoid a worldwide pandemic.

Since the end of January, we have been in weekly contact with the manufacturers from whom we obtain our equipment and components for the 3 other rooms - Charlie, Delta, and Echo, but the extent of the coronavirus was getting worse day by day.
At the beginning of February, the virus spread in several countries and media and news platforms around the world began to report about the coronavirus.
Globally, there are now severe shortages and production stops by suppliers and manufacturers worldwide - unfortunately, we are now also affected as we import our equipment from several countries around the world to provide the best possible conditions for perfect cannabis quality in our Swiss high-tech facility.

In the beginning, we expected a possible delay of 1-2 weeks from the manufacturers, so we could have started with the growing of Charlie, Delta, and Echo - by the end of March, but this happened several times and last Thursday we were told a possible delay of several weeks.
As the global situation with the pandemic is currently becoming increasingly severe, we have been experiencing delays in shipping traffic for a few days now besides the production delays.
Although we have already made payments for the equipment, we would not have spared you the expense of purchasing the missing components from local manufacturers, so we could have continued to make a smooth start. Unfortunately, as we have not found any alternative suppliers for the missing parts, this is currently not possible.

So, we have to inform you that the completion of the rooms and the start of the growth of Charlie, Delta, and Echo will be delayed until the end of the second quarter of 2020.
We are in permanent contact with the manufacturers and trying to finish everything as soon as possible and will keep you up to date.

In this article we would like to give you some information about cannabis in general. What exactly is cannabis, and what is its history, and what specifically are the differences between THC and CBD? If you are looking for answers to these questions, the following blog article will certainly provide you with all the information you need.

What exactly is cannabis?

Cannabis is the original Latin word for hemp. The term cannabis refers to the female hemp plant (usually Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica or their hybrids). Colloquial names for cannabis are marijuana, grass or weed. The resin extracted from the cannabis plant is called hash or hashish. Often it is also used to make cannabis oil.

Cannabis and its products (e.g. oils, flowers, scented candles, etc.) are usually consumed for their pleasant, psychoactive effects. In addition, cannabis is used in medicine as a painkiller. Because of its highly potent pain-relieving properties, cannabis has always been a popular medical product. And cannabis can either be smoked or consumed as food.

In the last few years there has been a strong trend towards legalization of cannabis and its products. Even in Germany marijuana is now licensed as a painkiller. In Switzerland, the Netherlands and increasingly in several US states cannabis with low THC content may even be sold quite legally for recreational use. More and more countries are following this legislation and are now legalizing cannabis.

The history of cannabis

In world literature cannabis was first mentioned in a Chinese textbook in botany field about 4700 years ago. The oldest marijuana finding dates back to around 700 BC and was a burial gift. Descriptions of the medical effects of cannabis can be found in 2400 years old Indian literature. Since the first crusades (1096-1099) cannabis was also introduced into European folk medicine. It was used for rheumatic and bronchial diseases. In the 19th century it was used against migraine, neuralgia, epileptic-like cramps and sleep disorders, etc. In the late 19th century cannabis was then largely replaced by synthetic drugs. Until then it was one of the most frequently prescribed painkillers in Western cultures. In the middle of the 20th century cannabis was demonized and banned almost worldwide. This negative trend continued until the late 1960s, when cannabis became socially acceptable again due to the hippie culture and became more popular. The exaggerated demonisation of cannabis and its products was gradually abandoned, and eventually cannabis was legally released again in many countries as a painkiller or for recreational use.

The difference between THC and CBD

Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) are the two primary cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. They are 2 different chemical substances, each with its own chemical structure. This distinguishes them from other components of the cannabis plant. Both THC and CBD interact with the cannabinoid receptors in the human body and brain, but differ significantly in their effects. THC is the much more potent active ingredient of cannabis. In contrast to THC CBD is hardly psychoactive. This is actually the biggest difference between the two substances. While THC causes a rather intensive "high feeling", CBD has a milder and slightly relaxing effect. CBD also has a somewhat broader range of use. If you are interested in the differences between THC and CBD in more detail, we recommend the next article.
